In 2024, all eyes are on DJ Diesel, the alter ego of basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal. He is determined to take his EDM career to new heights and become a superstar in the music industry. After celebrating the New Year at the Lights All Night festival in Dallas, he is preparing to make his next appearance in Denver. Shaq is not only performing at music festivals, but he has also launched his very own music festival called Bass All-Stars, which debuted in September 2023 in Texas. Now, he is gearing up for the second edition of Bass All-Stars, which will take place in the Mile-High City.
The upcoming Bass All-Stars festival is scheduled to be held on January 5, 2025 at the Mission Ballroom.
Originally, it was supposed to take place on September 8, 2023 at the same venue, with an all-female lineup including Shaq himself. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the event had to be rescheduled. The first Bass All-Stars festival was held at the Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth, where 15,000 EDM enthusiasts were in attendance, creating an electric atmosphere.
For the Denver edition of Bass All-Stars, DJ Diesel has put together an all-female star-studded lineup to join him on stage.
The audience can expect to see LayZ, the alt-punk duo So Tuff So Cute, AIMMIA, and the Los Angeles-based DJ Softest Hard. The concert is set to run from 7 pm to 1 am, making it a night to remember. When the Denver launch of Bass All-Stars was announced, Shaq expressed his frustrations about the lack of fresh talent in the EDM industry. He passionately exclaimed, "WE. NEED. FRESH. TALENT. Ticket sales are important, but they're not everything."
One DJ from Florida named So&So saw this as the perfect opportunity to showcase her skills. She tweeted, "MY DREAM to play for @djdiesel," catching Shaq's attention immediately.
He reached out to her with an offer, saying, "Then I need you on my @missionballroom show on Jan 5." So&So was overjoyed by the positive response and confirmed her participation on her official social media platforms, while also celebrating the sold-out show. She ecstatically wrote, "Big ups to @djdiesel for booking all women."
This is just the beginning of Shaq's DJ dreams. He has grand ambitions for his career in the music industry. Recently, he spent New Year's Eve at the Lights All Night festival, where his daughter, Taahirah O'Neal, also joined him backstage and had her own on-stage moments, adding to the excitement of the event.
Shaq will soon be back on TNT with the rest of the Inside Crew. Interestingly, while he is in San Francisco for the show, the Denver Nuggets will be playing the Warriors. Perhaps he will hitch a ride with his favorite player, Nikola Jokic, to perform at the Bass All-Stars festival the following day.
