With a stroke of luck and a hefty amount of talent, Robbie secured a leading part alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese's critically acclaimed film, The Wolf of Wall Street. In the movie, Robbie played the character Naomi Lapaglia, who starts off as Jordan Belfort's mistress and eventually becomes his second wife.

To land the role, Robbie took a daring approach during the audition process. In an improvised scene, she slapped DiCaprio across the face, leaving Scorsese thoroughly impressed with her performance.
