In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Don discussed Bill's discovery of RJ and Poppy together at the beach house.

He sympathized with Bill, acknowledging that it has been a while since his character has had any romantic action. Don also reminded viewers that Bill was initially introduced as the ultimate playboy and didn't seem to mind his exploits being witnessed. He noted that Poppy seems to be more affected by the situation than Bill.

However, Don also mentioned that the pairing of Bill and Poppy has a certain charm and sweetness to it.
