Margot Robbie stole the spotlight at the world premiere of Barbie in Los Angeles, wearing a custom Schiaparelli haute couture gown inspired by the iconic Solo in the Spotlight Barbie from the 1960s. The actress completed her doll-inspired look with over 350 carats of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Manolo Blahnik heels. Bryce Scarlett, Robbie's hairstylist, crafted a high-glamour, doll-like ponytail to complement her ensemble. 

Taking cues from the volume and structure of the 1960s, Scarlett used Redken hair products to prepare Robbie's tresses. After setting her hair in large Velcro rollers, he created a ponytail and set it in curls.

Gently brushing out the curls, Scarlett molded the bangs and ponytail to achieve a '60s-inspired shape and secured the style with Redken Max Hold Hairspray. The hairstylist emphasizes that this seemingly simple ponytail actually requires intricate techniques.

Scarlett, along with Robbie's stylist Andrew Mukamal, aimed to recreate iconic Barbie looks while infusing the actress's modern glamour. The press tour leading up to the premiere showcased Robbie donning designs from esteemed fashion houses, blending nostalgia with contemporary style.

With meticulous attention to detail, including a rhinestone phone carried in South Korea, the team created looks that paid homage to Barbie's influential legacy. Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, features a star-studded cast including Ryan Gosling, Issa Rae, America Ferrera, Dua Lipa, and Hari Nef. The highly anticipated film arrives in theaters on July 21.
