Sterling K. Brown, who was the first name announced when the nominations for the 96th Academy Awards were revealed, doesn't believe he will win the prize. He believes that Robert Downey Jr., who is also nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category, will likely take home the award. Brown has already been bested by Downey Jr. at the Critics Choice and Golden Globes, and he believes that the pattern will continue at the Oscars.
Despite this, Brown has no hard feelings and is actually a fan of Downey Jr.
He thinks that Downey Jr.'s performance in Oppenheimer is deserving of the award and is happy to lose to him. On The Graham Norton Show, Brown stated, "I know that I'm not going to win, and I'm fine with that. Totally fine with it. I'll tell you, Robert Downey Jr. is going to win. And he's incredibly deserving."
While Brown is content with the possibility of losing, some Barbie fans may still be upset that Margot Robbie was not nominated for an Oscar. However, fans of the film Oppenheimer universally agree that Downey Jr. gave an incredible performance. Robbie, in a recent discussion, expressed gratitude for her blessings and praised Greta Gerwig's work, despite the snub.
American Ferrera also earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and the film received a total of eight nominations. The winners will be revealed at the March 10 ceremony. Margot Robbie remains proud of what Gerwig has accomplished and believes it is a victory for cinema.
