Australian actress Margot Robbie, known for her role as Barbie, is collaborating with her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, on a fashion book titled "Barbie: The World Tour." The book will showcase the fashion moments from the hit movie's press tour. It is set to be released on March 8, just two days before Robbie attends the Academy Awards. However, despite the excitement surrounding the book and the film's nominations, Robbie was snubbed for a Best Actress nod.
The cover of the book features Robbie in a pink tweed Chanel skirt suit and a sequined bra top, surrounded by pink Chanel bags and other accessories.
Mukamal took to Instagram to tease the book, posting a picture with the caption, "coming soon...".
In the book, Robbie recreates iconic doll outfits from the Barbie franchise. Mukamal revealed that the idea for the book came about when he started dreaming about Robbie's wardrobe for the "Barbie" press tour in March 2023. He never expected the idea to become a reality so quickly and called it a "once in a lifetime project".
The book, shot by fashion photographer Craig McDean, will include looks that fans didn't get to see due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, as well as handwritten contributions from the designers behind the looks and rare materials from Mattel's Barbie fashion archives.
Mukamal dedicated the book to all Barbie lovers and fashion fans around the world.
While Robbie may not have received an Oscar nomination for her role, the film itself was nominated for Best Picture and eight other awards, including Best Costumes.
