Hey, guess what? Hugh Jackman has a secret love story with none other than the legendary Whitney Houston! In a heartwarming video he recently posted on Instagram, Jackman spilled the beans about his teenage infatuation with Houston's iconic 1992 hit, "I Will Always Love You."
According to Jackman, his younger self genuinely believed that Whitney Houston was singing directly to him in the song. He even went so far as to claim that in the very last words of the song, Houston whispered his name. Can you believe it? He said, "The very last one is Hugh. I made myself believe that when I was 15."
In the video, we see Jackman jamming along to the song, completely engrossed in the moment.
But just as he is about to reach the pinnacle of his musical bliss, the piano interrupts his daydream. In a moment of pure humor, he exclaims, "why is the piano coming? We don't need the piano!"
Now, if you're a fan of Hugh Jackman, you'd know that he was supposed to make a grand return to Broadway in a musical called "The Music Man." Sadly, due to the pandemic, the show's opening was postponed. Originally, they planned to premiere it in the spring of 2021.
But guess what? Fate had other plans, too.
Due to the allegations against producer Scott Rudin, the musical's creative team is currently being revamped. Well, we'll just have to wait a little longer to see Hugh on the Broadway stage again, won't we? So there you have it, folks! Hugh Jackman's teenage dream of being serenaded by Whitney Houston came true, at least in his own imagination. And we're here for it, 100%!
