Margot Robbie took inspiration from Barbie for her stunning look at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards. The 33-year-old "Barbie" star dazzled on the red carpet in almost 100 carats worth of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. She wore 60-carat oval diamond earrings and a 35-carat oval diamond ring, which caught everyone's attention. Speaking to an "Access Hollywood" reporter, Robbie expressed her surprise at the size of the diamonds, saying, "I didn't know diamonds came that big." The ring she wore is a D color, the highest color grade on the GIA color scale and the most expensive.
The decision to wear such extravagant jewelry was made by Robbie's stylist, Andrew Mukamal, who said, "It's exactly what Barbie would wear. It's over the top and fabulous!" The estimated worth of the jewelry for the evening is around $3 million. The diamonds perfectly complemented Robbie's red Balmain gown, which featured a ruffled floral neckline, ruched bodice, and an elegant train. She completed her look with simple makeup and a loose, low hairstyle.
Although Robbie was nominated for Best Actress for her role in "Barbie," the award went to Emma Stone. However, Robbie didn't let that dampen her spirits as she enjoyed the evening with her husband, Tom Ackerley.
This isn't the first time Robbie has channeled Barbie for her red carpet looks. At the 2024 Golden Globes, she wore a custom Armani Privé creation that resembled 1977's Superstar Barbie. With a hot pink boa, a sequined gown, and more Lorraine Schwartz diamonds, Robbie truly looked like a living doll.
