Ryan Reynolds is set to serve as an executive producer for the revival of the beloved animated series "Biker Mice from Mars." Production company Nacelle has partnered with Reynolds' Maximum Effort and Fubo to bring back the cult classic. The show, which was first announced in January, will also be executive produced by director Brian Volk-Weiss and a team of other industry professionals.
The series follows a group of anthropomorphic mice on Mars who enjoy motorsports and have a culture similar to humans.
Their existence is threatened when they are attacked by the Plutarkians, an alien race that seeks to plunder other planets for resources.
Three survivor mice, Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie, manage to escape and crash-land on Earth in Chicago. Alongside a female mechanic named Charlene "Charley" Davidson, the Biker Mice must defend Earth against the Plutarkians and find a way back to Mars.
Reynolds expressed his excitement for the project, mentioning his personal connection as a motorcycle enthusiast. He stated that Maximum Effort and Fubo are thrilled to bring a fresh take on this cult classic. Director Brian Volk-Weiss also chimed in, highlighting the importance of the mice having bikes, stating that they have answered the question of what a biker mouse would be without a bike.
