Sony has announced the release dates for two upcoming films from Apple Original Films. The first, starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, is set to hit theaters on July 12. Formerly known as "Project Artemis," the film will be shown in premium large formats, with Columbia Pictures distributing.
The second film, titled "Wolfs," stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt and will be released on September 20. It will be shown in IMAX and premium large formats. "Wolfs," directed by Jon Watts, follows two fixers as they tackle the same job and also features Amy Ryan.
Directed by Greg Berlanti, the film previously known as "Project Artemis" also stars Jim Rash, Ray Romano, Anna Garcia, Donald Elise Watkins, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Nick Dillenburg, Christian Zuber, and Woody Harrelson.
The currently untitled film is set against the backdrop of the 1960s space race and is written by Rose Gilroy.
Apple acquired the rights to "Project Artemis" in a $100 million deal in 2022. Originally, Chris Evans was set to star with Jason Bateman directing. However, Evans dropped out due to schedule changes caused by Bateman's departure, which was reportedly due to creative differences. Filming for the project took place in Atlanta last fall.
In addition to acting, Johansson is also serving as a producer for the film under her production company, These Pictures. The film is produced by Jonathan Lia, Keenan Flynn, and Sarah Schechter.
Robert Dohrmann is the executive producer.
"Wolfs," written by Jon Watts, is produced by Watts and Dianne McGunigle, as well as George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner. Apple won a bidding war for the film, beating out several other studios.
