The two actors have been working on the film for several months, with Pitt playing a veteran F1 driver who comes out of retirement to mentor a rising star. He is joined by Bardem, who plays the team owner, and Damson Idris, who plays the young phenom. Pitt has expressed excitement about the film, stating that the shots of the cars and the G forces will be unlike anything seen before.

He admitted to never having driven a racing car on a track before but has experience on bikes. The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski and is produced by Lewis Hamilton, who is a seven-time world champion. The collaboration with F1 grants the film access to racetracks and professional drivers.
