Margot Robbie, widely regarded as one of the greatest actresses of all time, recently received a nomination for the Golden Globe Awards in 2024 for her role in "Barbie." Though she did not win the Best Actress award, her performance was highly acclaimed by critics and gained her a larger fan base, solidifying her status as a leading actress of this generation.
Throughout her career, which includes notable films like "About Time," Robbie has worked across various genres, but her portrayal of DC's Harley Quinn has become iconic. She has played the role in three DC films: "Suicide Squad," "Birds of Prey," and "The Suicide Squad.
" However, Robbie has made a heartbreaking announcement that dashes the hopes of Harley Quinn's return.
From her humble beginnings on the Australian soap opera "Neighbors" in 2008 to her breakthrough role in Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street," Robbie's talent and iconic performances have contributed to her success. However, Robbie believes it may be time for her to take a break, as she feels people may be tired of seeing her on screen.
In an exclusive interview with Deadline, Robbie was asked about the possibility of taking a break.
She responded, "Everyone says that. Everyone's like, 'Are you having a break?' And I'm like, 'You do know I'm a producer, right? We don't get a break [laughs].' This past year has been the longest time I haven't acted on set since we finished filming 'Barbie' in October 2022. Other than Covid, it's the first time this has ever happened."
Robbie believes that a break from acting is necessary, as she thinks people may be exhausted from seeing her in movies. She expressed her desire to disappear from screens for a while, adding, “Honestly, if I did another movie too soon, people would say, 'Her again? We just had a whole summer with her.
We're over it.' I don't know what I'll do next, but I hope it's a little while away.”
