At the 81st Golden Globe Awards, Margot Robbie addressed the possibility of a sequel to the highly successful film "Barbie." Despite the film's critical acclaim and commercial success, it suffered disappointing losses at the awards ceremony. However, Robbie remained evasive about any future plans for expanding the film into a franchise.

During the red carpet interview, Robbie neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of a sequel. When asked about it, she playfully said, "You can prove me wrong. We'll see." This ambiguous response left the door open for potential sequel plans, although Robbie and director Greta Gerwig have previously stated that there are no immediate plans for a second installment.

They have not completely ruled out the possibility, though.

In a previous interview, Robbie expressed uncertainty about the potential for a sequel, saying that they didn't originally intend for the film to be a trilogy and that Gerwig had put everything into the first movie. Ryan Gosling, Robbie's co-star, also claimed to have no knowledge of any sequel plans but expressed openness to the idea.

Despite fans' enthusiasm for a sequel, "Barbie" suffered disappointing losses at the Golden Globe Awards.

The film had the most nominations of any movie that year but only won two awards: Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, and Best Original Song. It lost in the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category to "Poor Things," and Emma Stone won the Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy award over Robbie. Additionally, "Oppenheimer" emerged as the biggest winner of the night, overshadowing "Barbie" with its five wins.

In conclusion, Margot Robbie's comments at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards regarding a potential "Barbie" sequel were open-ended, leaving room for speculation. However, the film suffered disappointing losses at the awards ceremony, raising doubts about the future of the franchise.
