Once upon a time in the sports construction market, there was a man named Jay Lilley who noticed a major discrepancy. Minority business owners were not receiving the same opportunities as their counterparts. And so, Jay saw an opportunity and seized it. With his clever business acumen and hard work, Jay found himself in the incredible position of having a circle of famous friends and clients, along with recognition in the business community. One of his regular clients happened to be none other than Shaquille O'Neal, the most dominant center in NBA history.
Everyone knows that an NBA star's mega-mansion is not complete without one or two basketball courts.
And so, Shaq enlisted the help of Jay's company, Court Dreams, to build not just one, but two basketball courts within his massive real estate portfolio. This marked the beginning of a beautiful partnership between the two.
Jay's network of celebrity friends today is a testament to his ability to appeal to his famous clients. Sheen magazine even took notice and profiled his rise from humble beginnings to being friends with the likes of Shaq, Ludacris, Deontay Wilder, Future, Boosie, Tray Young, Mendeecees Harris, and Yandy Smith.
Of course, amidst all the success, Jay never forgot to acknowledge and express his gratitude to the people who made it all possible. He thanked his wife, his dedicated team at Court Dreams, and Sheen magazine for publishing the incredible article that showcased his journey. Jay knows that there are still many more chapters left in his story, and he is excited to see what the future holds.
A particular image caught the attention of readers in the Sheen magazine article. It was a picture from Deontay Wilder's 38th birthday party, held on a luxurious yacht in October 2023. At this exclusive event, Shaq and Jay were among the guests, displaying not just a business-client relationship but a genuine friendship.
In fact, Shaq had become one of Jay's mentors along the way.
Growing up in North Carolina, Jay had always been drawn to the sport of basketball. Although his dreams of being in the NBA did not come to fruition, he found a way to incorporate his passion into his life through Court Dreams. With a focus on A-list clients, Jay had the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in the NBA, including Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and of course, Shaquille O'Neal.
