Ariana Grande teased the upcoming two-part film adaptation of Broadway's hit musical Wicked by sharing photos on Instagram. In one photo, she is dressed as Glinda the Good Witch with the iconic star-shaped wand and puff-sleeved dress. In another photo, she stands next to Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West. The film is set to be released in two parts, with Part One coming in 9 months, 26 days, and 3 hours. Ariana also shared a behind-the-scenes photo of the silhouette of Prince Fiyero, played by Jonathan Bailey. Ariana recently wrapped up filming for Wicked and shared an emotional post about her experience, mentioning her boyfriend Ethan Slater, who plays Boq in the film.
She expressed gratitude for the time she spent with her castmates and the director, Jon M. Chu. Ariana also released her new single "Yes, And?" which addresses the hate she received for her relationship with Ethan. The film adaptation of Wicked is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz and explores the friendship between the characters Elphaba and Glinda. It is set to be released in November 2024.
